Project Overview

This project was a collaborative smart home installation, working closely with a client who had a strong understanding of technology and a clear vision for how they wanted their home to function.
The property, a three-storey family home, was undergoing building upgrades, creating the perfect opportunity to introduce a fully integrated system that would enhance everyday living.
While the interior remained relaxed and traditional, the aim was to introduce a high level of performance without allowing the technology to dominate the space. The result is a home where everything works together seamlessly while remaining largely hidden from view.

A Flexible Entertainment Experience

A key focus of the project was creating a flexible setup that could adapt to how the family uses the home.
A central video distribution system allows multiple sources to be shared across several rooms, meaning content can move with the user — whether watching sport, streaming or gaming.
To fully utilise the performance of the displays and AV equipment, the system was configured to deliver Dolby Vision across all three media rooms, ensuring a consistently the highest quality 4K viewing experience throughout.

A Dedicated Media Space

The main media room was designed to deliver a more immersive experience while still functioning as a comfortable everyday space.
A 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos surround sound system built around KEF speakers, driven by Denon amplification, provides powerful and balanced sound.
A high tier native 4K Laser projector from Sony delivers sharp, colour-rich images onto a large ceiling recessed screen, while a wall-mounted TV offers a second viewing option.
Subtle lighting integrated into bespoke joinery helps shape the atmosphere of the room

Connected Media Spaces

Two additional media rooms provide high-quality viewing in more relaxed settings.
Each space is designed to work independently while remaining connected, allowing content to be shared across the home when needed. One features a 5.1 surround setup with an OLED display, while another uses a discreet audio solution built around Triad components.
Together, these spaces create a flexible entertainment environment suited to both everyday use and social occasions.

Music & Comfort

Audio was designed to sit naturally within the home’s living spaces.
Discreet in-ceiling speakers and a central system allow music to be enjoyed in multiple areas, either individually or as a whole when entertaining.
Alongside this, smart heating control was integrated, allowing the home to maintain a comfortable environment in a more responsive and efficient way.

Lighting & Control

Lighting throughout the home was upgraded using Rako, introducing a more flexible and refined approach to each space.
Simple, well-designed keypads and subtle LED lighting enhance the interior without drawing attention to the technology.
All systems are brought together through Control4, allowing the homeowners to manage everything easily from Halo remotes or a touchscreen. Behind the scenes, a professionally designed network and equipment setup ensures everything runs reliably.

The Result

This project delivers a highly connected family home where entertainment, lighting and comfort work together effortlessly.
By combining thoughtful design with carefully integrated systems, the home now offers a level of flexibility and performance that enhances everyday living while remaining true to its character.
